Today, 28th April, 2022, the Ga South Municipal Assembly led by Hon. Joseph Nyarni Stephen, Municipal Chief Executive in collaboration with the Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro, Hon. Sylvester Tetteh made donations of bags of rice and oil to leadership of the various Muslim communities in the municipality.
The donations were made after a brief meeting with the Muslim Chiefs on the upcoming Eid.
The MCE explained that the donations forms part of the Assembly’s social responsibility to the Muslim communities and is in solidarity to the Muslims in the municipality for bringing their spiritual exercise to a successful end.
The MCE whiles addressing the meeting also stated that peace and security must not be compromised amidst the celebrations. He mentioned that the Assembly through the security agencies will ensure police presence where necessary to ensure other citizens go about their activities in a peaceful environment.
Hon. Sylvester Tetteh on his part appealed to the leadership of the moslem communities to reached out to the less privileged so that they can also share in the celebrations. He further charged them to continue praying for the nation and the government in this time of global crisis of which Ghana has been a casualty.
On their part, Sheikh Shaibu Sallau III, Head of the moslem chiefs in the municipality expressed appreciation to the Assembly and the MP for the kind gesture. He gave the assurance on behalf of his colleagues that the celebrations will be done in moderation.
