On the 8th of April,2025 at 9:00am, the Ga South Municipal Assembly organized a meeting with the National College of Defense as part of a study course program on “ Smart Governance for Sustainable Development” to discuss the focus on the application of SMART governance, local government system and examining the decentralization process.

The visit aimed to explore governance models and decentralization’s role in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs). The delegation met with Assembly officials to learn about local government, SMART governance, and decentralization at the municipal level.

The key discussion of the meeting focused on the application of SMART governance which highlighted on the principles of SMART which are Simple, Moral , Accountability, Responsiveness and Transparency, which enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the local government operations. The meeting ended with both the Ga South Municipal Assembly and the National College of Defense Studies agreeing to work together. They plan to explore more ways to use SMART governance for sustainable development in the region.
