
The 62nd Independence Day anniversary has been commemorated with a colourful parade at the Ngleshie Amanfro Cluster of Schools in the Ga South Municipality.
Present at the ceremony were the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Nyarni Stephen, The Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Emmanuel Baisie, Chiefs and Queen mothers of the area, Assembly Members, as well as Heads of departments.
Almost 500 students from Sixteen (16) basic schools and Four (4) Senior high schools came together to take part in the parade organized by the Ga South Municipal Assembly.
In his speech, the Municipal chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Nyarni Stephen entreated all to be peace loving in order to champion the course of the development for the municipality and also entreated all and sundry to effectively harness the nation’s resources and creatively and efficiently deploy them for rapid economic development.
He also encouraged the students gathered to learn harder in order to pass their exams and further stated that the Assembly’s doors are opened to assist students to overcome the fears of examinations. Mrs. Felicia Agyeibea Okai, the Municipal Education director, advised everybody to embrace peace and unity to foster economic development in the Municipality.
At the end of the parade, the Municipal Chief Executive and the Municipal Education Director presented certificates and awards to deserving schools and students.
