The Ga South Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra region has commissioned its new ultramodern office complex at Ngleshie Amanfro
The Assembly was carved out of the Weija Gbawe Municipal Assembly in 2018 as part of the newly created Assemblies in the Greater Accra Region under the Legislative Instrument (LI) 2316 with Nglesgie Amanfro as the Municipal capital.
In delivering the inaugural speech at the ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga South Municipal Assembly, Hon. Joseph Nyarni Stephen, stated that, the construction of the office complex was in fulfilment of the Assembly’s overall vision to become a Centre of Excellence in effective Service Delivery.
The new office complex had improved facilities consisting of Twenty-Six (26) Offices for Staff, Thirteen (13) Washrooms for staff, 4 Washrooms for the General Public, 120 Sitting Capacity Conference Room for Assembly Meetings, 60 Car Parking lot and a Security Post.
He also indicated that the IGF was used to fund other projects aside the office complex.
“I need to state that this Office Complex is just one of the many projects being funded from the Internally Generated Fund (IGF). Currently, we are putting up a Four Bedroom and Three Bedroom Residential Facility for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and the Coordinating Director respectively”, he said.
There were goodwill messages by Ing. Dr. Nana Atto Arthur, Head of Local Government Service, Hon. Kwasi Boateng Agyei, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Hon. Ishmael Ashitey, Greater Accra Regional Minister and Nii Kwashie Gborlor (IV), Chief of Ngleshie Amanfro.
They commended the Assembly authorities for a good work done and challenged other Assemblies to emulate this enviable achievement.
Present at the celebration were the Mr. Ernest Nyagbe Chief Director, Regional Co-ordinating Council and Municipal Chief Executives from sister municipalities, Assembly members, and staff of the Assembly.
